Signal Brewing Company has paired up with The Chronicle to launch a spooky Imperial IPA: The Creature from the Hop Lagoon!
This delicious Halloween-themed orange beer reaches a buzzing 7.5% and the bitterness surpasses our mainline IPA Byte. It offers up a juicy, tropical taste with a strong sweet aroma and a subtle malt finish.
The project between The Chronicle and Signal initially came to pass when our brewers started chatting at the Whitby Beerfest in September. Brewmaster Rob says he's always liked The Chronicle's brand and labels so a partnership seemed like a really good opportunity to cross-brand with a fellow small business.
They collaboratively came up with the idea to do a Halloween-style IPA and brewer Connor was the one to come up with the name, based on his favourite Halloween movie, The Creature from the Black Lagoon. Our brewers were especially stoked to be able to try out some new brewing techniques, using a more potent, hop extract called hop resin as opposed to the regular hop pellets.
After a month in the works, the final product turned out great.
You can find The Creature from the Hop Lagoon on tap at Signal or in cans at The Chronicle in Bowmanville.
