Live is Where it Lives Season Starter

Live is Where it Lives is back and better than ever!

Hosted by local musician and community activist Joe Callahan, it aims to support musicians in the greater Quinte region and eastern Ontario and to provide local live music lovers with access to performances from some of the best artists in the region at reasonable rates.

The concerts are roughly two hours in length and feature a different local artist each time, giving them the opportunity to perform, be interviewed by host Joe and sometimes Joe will even join in on a few songs with the featured artist. The show encourages improvisation and spontaneity.

For the season opener this Friday, October 26, Joe welcomes the Tom Eastland Triage:

"Tom Eastland is an alternative folk-rock singer-songwriter currently based in Peterborough, Canada. He was born in Hawaii and raised around the United States until landing in Ottawa at the age of ten. Tom started out in music at the age of 18 as a “smart-ass poet with a guitar, questionable musical ability, and a peculiar voice”. Through over 30 years of dedication to the craft of songwriting and public performance, Tom has developed a compelling vocal style and an extensive repertoire of original music - rich in imagery, emotion and humour.

Tom has had three of his original songs featured on National CBC radio, and each of his last three albums have charted on !earshot charts for Canadian community radio stations. Tom Eastland Triage adds Myke Mazzei and Susanne Kozo, who bring delicious harmonies and instrumentation, and decades of performance experience. The three have performed together throughout southern Ontario for over four years, and have developed a deep body of family-friendly original, traditional, and popular favourite songs. For the Signal Brewery show live TV/radio broadcast they will be focusing on original tunes, but will also play some favourite cover songs during the camera breaks and sound checks.

Three voices, two guitars, a magic squeezebox, and a wide & wild variety of our best folk-rock-roots tunes. We have a new CD as of August 2018. It is Serious Fun."

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
